Seeeeee ! ! ! I really have been knitting ! ! !

These are the scarves that I knit for all the people at work... all 8 of them. They are all longer than shown I folded them to get them all in the picture. I didn't take pictures of the 4 that I have knitted for one of them for them to give as gifts or the one that I just finished last night that is for a friend.

Everyone at work was so surprised and happy and they all have been wearing them. I didn't do any fancy knitting since I wanted to get them done fast so I chose to let the different yarns shine in the projects.

We had our MidWinter Feast this past Saturday... heheeh in addition to the scarves, I sewed the red dress and white under dress in the following post... I can happily say that I got lots of compliments on the dress...

Well, that is when people could see it.

Our Gate was set up in a freezing cold room. 2 big electric heaters and 2 small ones barely took the edge off and I wound up wearing my black cape the whole time. Found out today that my boss for the event actually wound up getting sick cause she couldn't get warm enough. I just took massive doses of Vitamin C when I got home and each day since... so far.... Knock wood...... so good.

I also was so busy running gate that I didn't have time to take any pictures! WHINE!!! Oh well. Maybe next year, I'll MAKE time to take pictures.

I sure hope that everyone's Holiday presents are as happily and gratefully accepted and appreciated as mine have been! It sure makes you feel good when you see people wearing what you have made for them.

Happy Holidays!

I need another month till Christmas!

Honest, I have been so very very busy! ! ! I made this dress for my MidWinter Celebration that will take place December 18th. 12th Century Anglo-Saxon. The belt isn't exactly the way it will be when it's made and you don't see the veil which I still have to shape and hem.

The underdress is winter white sueded silk, the overdress is herringbone woven silk, the sleeves are lined in gold silk. The veil will be Habouti silk but that darned stuff is super slippery! Wow, I had no idea how slippery it was. I'll have to wear one of the head bands and then pin the veil to that to keep it in place. The pin at the neck is borrowed from my Mom's wonderful collection of pins. I'm very glad that the majority of the work is now completed.

Yes, I've been knitting, too. I have 1 and a half more scarves to make for one of the nurses I work with and then I need to go shopping for Mom! Fortunately, I have Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off during the week to see what I can get into.

One project will be making cream cheese mints for the MidWinter Celebration. Thursday, we are having a Gate class for all the volunteers who will be working Gate at MidWinter. New forms to learn and situations to learn how to handle. That leaves Wednesday and Friday to shop and make the mints and bake cookies for my Gate workers, too.

I honestly miss knitting and will get back to it now that the dress is almost totally finished. I'm hoping to have the belt finished after work tomorrow night and then I'll work on the veil after work on Tuesday.... Honest, I really do need another month before MidWinter and Christmas!!!
